The USAID-funded CityLinks program implemented by the International City Management Association joined forces with the Bulgarian Foundation for Local Government Reform to address waste management practices in Bulgaria.

A four-year portable guarantee agreement with USAID will enable Nachala to meet the increasing needs for investment and working capital.

The goals of the Volunteer Network for Training and Consulting are to seek inexpensive, creative ways to address local needs and to promote volunteerism in Bulgaria.

Representatives from NGOs and their partner courts met in Razgrad on July 20 to share best practices at the fourth public exhibition sponsored by the USAID Judicial Strengthening Initiative.

The organizers were the USAID Participant Training Program and its legacy organization, the Bulgarian Center for Development and Training.

“While we say goodbye to some Americans who have worked in Bulgaria, I view today’s event more as a new beginning,” said Ambassador Beyrle.

The new department will continue to recruit and support courts under the ongoing SJC Courts in Partnership program. In the past two years the SJC has shown a strong interest in endorsing USAID activities.

The tool is useful for meeting organizations’ needs for financial management, cash flow monitoring, and project planning.

Since 1993 the program has trained more than 4,000 Bulgarians in support of USAID technical assistance programs.
