On November 21-22, Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Persons, Antoaneta Vassileva, and the National Commission Expert Group traveled to Varna for a workshop organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) with USAID support.

The Bulgaria Fund - a final initiative of USAID in Bulgaria - will be launched on November 15 in Sheraton Hotel, Sofia. Ambassador John Beyrle and the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Bulgaria, Miglena Tacheva, will speak at the ceremony, which will provide attendees with information on the Bulgaria Fund’s core objectives, strategic focus, and the first call for proposals.

Public opinion polling conducted in late October by the research firm MBMD on behalf of USAID revealed that public awareness in Bulgaria about USAID has increased. The results are most likely attributable to the USAID Bulgaria public awareness campaign that ran from mid-September to late October and included print, internet, TV and radio ads.
