The alliance-based program in the regions of Sofia and Sofia district, Sliven, Pazardzhik, Burgas, Omurtag, Razgrad, and Silistra provided financial suppport to micro and small enterprises of vulnerable and ethnically discriminated Roma groups, thus addressing broader developmental goals such as poverty alleviation, economic development, and tolerance for Roma. This activity sustained a microfinance network in marginalized Roma communities and helped to alleviate poverty, improve economic development and increase ethnic tolerance for Roma minorities in Bulgaria.
