Press Release: New Bulgaria Fund to Launch on November 15

The Bulgaria Fund sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the German Marshall Fund of the United States will officially launch on November 15 in Sofia. Ambassador John Beyrle and Minister of Justice Miglena Tacheva will speak at the launch event, which will provide attendees with information on the Bulgaria Fund’s core objectives, strategic focus, and the first call for proposals.
The Bulgaria Fund is a three-year, $3 million grant making initiative to support key areas of reform and development in Bulgaria. The Fund’s priority areas are good governance, support for marginalized populations, education and competitiveness. It is funded by USAID and implemented by the German Marshall Fund Balkan Trust for Democracy.
Media are invited to attend the launch event, which will take place in the Serdika Ballroom at the Sheraton Hotel from 11:00-13:00.
